Asia could lose up to $4.7 trillion of GDP annually by 2050. How? Climate change. Increased heat and humidity will limit the number of hours people can work outdoors, resulting in socio economic devastation for some of the most at-risk communities. The impact of climate change might feel far away, but to put it into perspective, we are now closer to 2050 than 1990. McKinsey & Company’s latest report on how climate change could impact APAC paints a grim picture. However, in the face of the pandemic, we were able to rally across borders, industries, and sectors. I hope we can apply the same coordinated energy to addressing climate risks, especially as they become more tangible. https://goo.gle/3aXRxaB #climatechange #asiapacific

This International Women's Day, I participated in Lean In Singapore's "Walking the Talk" mentorship initiative. It was great to connect with Wrenna Wong and Madhurima Dutta to discuss the evolving landscape of marketing in the age of #AI. My take? AI is an opportunity to enhance creativity and productivity. Investing the time in understanding AI now is crucial for future success. This technology is rapidly changing our field, and those who embrace it early will be best positioned to grow alongside these advancements. This experience also reinforced my belief that networking opens doors to knowledge and new possibilities – reach out, connect, and learn from those around you! Thanks, Uma Thana Balasingam, for organizing this event, and Wrenna and Madhurima for the engaging conversation! #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2024 #Mentorship

Did you know that 95% of Tasmania's Giant Kelp Forests have disappeared? As carbon sinks, these ecosystems play a pivotal role in supporting marine life and maintaining environmental health. But, there's hope through innovation. As part of Google Australia's $1B Digital Future Initiative, Google AI has joined forces with leading scientists from CSIRO, University of Tasmania, The Nature Conservancy, Great Southern Reef Foundation and NGIS to map the remaining kelp and identify heat-resistant strains, laying the foundation for restoration efforts! Having personally witnessed collaborations with CSIRO and partners like Cochlear in Australia last year, shaping the future of hearing technology and contributing to the Digital Future Initiative, I'm keeping an eye on the progress of this initiative.
