Google for Startups Startup Academy Vietnam, organized by Google and National Innovation Center (NIC) - Ministry of Planning & Investment (MPI), is a five-day, intensive onsite bootcamp for early-stage Vietnamese tech startups from all industries, preferred but not limited to education, healthcare, agriculture, fintech, gaming and retail. The program is designed to fast-track high-potential Vietnamese tech startups by providing access to the best of Google's programs, products, and best practices.

Startups in residence will grow through the mentorship by industry experts, the companionship of outstanding fellow startups and our workshops, and plenary sessions focusing on product, business, technology and leadership development for founders.

The Startup Academy 2022 will offer two cohorts in 2022: 

The program will be conducted in English and Vietnamese, and will accept applications from startups headquartered in Vietnam.

Selection process

Submission of applications begins at 00:00 GMT+7 on 15 July 2022 and ends at 23:59 GMT+7 on 16 August 2022. 

All applications will be carefully considered and shortlisted startups will be invited to due diligence and/or interviews for further evaluation where Google will decide the final list of the program participants.

The selected startups will be informed via email and announced on our website.

What is the Google for Startups, Startup Academy Vietnam?

Google for Startups, Startup Academy Vietnam is a five-day intensive onsite bootcamp for high-potential early-stage Vietnamese tech startups. 


The Academy helps startups to grow and scale their business and solve specific technical challenges with Google resources. As part of the Google for Startups, Startup Academy Vietnam, the selected founders outline the top challenges facing their startups, and are then paired with relevant experts from Google and the industry to solve those challenges.


Participating startups receive mentorship on technical challenges and product design, and connections to relevant teams from across Google.


In addition to mentorship and technical project support, the academy also includes deep dives and workshops focused on business, product design, and leadership development for founders.

When does application open for the Startup Academy and for how long?

Application submission period begins on 00:00 Vietnam time 15 July, 2022 and closes at 23:59 Vietnam time on 16 August, 2022.


Note: The application is open at once for both cohorts in 2022. In the application form, you can choose to apply for Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City cohort in the application form, please chose only 1 option most suitable for your startup's headquarter location and founders' availability to join activities.

Where will the program be held?

Google for Startups, Startup Academy Vietnam will be operated in 2 cohorts in 2022, on-site in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city for startups headquartered in the North and in the South respectively.  


Startups will be selected and participate in either one of those 2 cohorts.

What are the differences between the Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi cohort?

Location to host the Academy is the main difference between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi cohorts. Due to this location difference, there might be different mentors, speakers and partners for each cohort however the program design, curriculum and activities for both cohorts will be similar. 


The network of industry experts, mentors and partners can be connected and accessible to all participating startups after the Academy 2022 ends.

How will startups be chosen?

This program is open to Vietnam startups who are providing tech solutions in all development industries, preferred but not limited to education, healthcare, agriculture, fintech, gaming and retails. The academy is best suited for revenue-generating early-stage startups or pre-seed to pre-series A startups  headquartered in Vietnam with the following details :

All applications will be carefully considered and shortlisted startups will be invited to due diligence and/or interviews for further evaluation where Google will decide the final list of the program participants.


The selected startups will be informed via email and announced on our website.

How many startups will be chosen for each cohort?

Each cohort will host approximately 25 startups.

Do startups have to use Google tools to be considered for the program?

We want to see and hear from any and all eligible startups - using Google tools is not a requirement!
