Can anyone help me troubleshoot this error? Do I need to be a beta user of Google Assistant?

Hey folks,

Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your patience. Our teams are aware and we're working on a fix. In order for the team to explore further, we need to gather additional feedback from affected customers.

Please replicate the issue first then immediately send feedback on the Google Home app by following the steps below or visit this link to learn more. Also, make sure to use the keywords: "GHT3 Unable to link Zoom account in the Google Home app."

Step 1. Turn on device reports

  1. Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as your Chromecast, or speaker or display.
  2. Open the Google Home app.
  3. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  4. At the top right corner of the screen, tap Settings > Recognition & sharing.
  5. Turn on Send [device model] device usage and crash reports to Google. (Example: Send Google Home device usage and crash reports to Google.)

Step 2. Share your feedback

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. At the top right, tap your account.
  3. Tap Feedback > tap the type of device you'd like to submit feedback for.
  4. To display available emails, in the "From:" section, tap the arrow on the right. Select your email address.
  5. In the feedback summary, write a brief description of your issue.
  6. Be sure to check the box for Screenshot and System logs.
  7. To submit feedback, at the top right corner, tap Send.

Let us know once done.

Cheers,

Muddi

To confirm, how did you get to this screen? By follow the steps below?

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap your photo or initials at the top right.
  3. Tap Assistant Settings > Voice and video calls > Voice & Video Apps.
  4. Tap Zoom > Create or link account.

I am having the same issue.  I got to that screen while setting up a new Google Nest Hub.  This was my first time using it and I was following all the prompts through the Google Home app.

Same issue for me! Followed the steps you listed. How do we get round this?

Hey folks,

Thanks for sharing details about the issue here. I appreciate @David_K for helping.

I understand how it feels when you're having issues linking your Zoom account to your Google Nest Hub Max. A few questions: is this the first time that you're linking your Zoom account? What type of Zoom account do you have (business or personal)? Have you tried using a different phone/tablet?

Make sure you have the latest version of the Google Home app and the Google Assistant app. Also, using Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) accounts are currently only supported in beta. Google Workspace administrators can sign up at https://goo.gle/3WTKHdx. For more information about video meeting on your Smart Display, please visit this link.

Hi Muddi,

Thanks for your response. Yes this is the first time I am linking my Zoom account. The Zoom account I am using is Zoom Basic. I haven’t tried another phone/tablet. I am using the latest versions of both Google Home and Google Assistant. I’ve followed the steps in the link without success!  Any further assistance you can provide would be much appreciated – thanks.

Cheers

Hey BWF,

Thanks for the update. Let's go ahead and try using a different phone/tablet to link your Zoom account to the Google Home app. Let's see if you will get the same result. Also, what country are you located in?

Hey BWF,

It looks like you have a beta account. Do you have other Zoom account that you can try? Also, what is the make and model of your phone?

Hey Muddi,

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought all Zoom accounts were beta? Do you have any more suggestions? There seems to be alot of folks out there with the same problem.

Looking for your support.

Hey BWF,

There are Zoom accounts that are not in beta because only the paid accounts (Pro and above) can create a beta testing account to get access to the Beta account. Could you tell us the Google Home app version on your device? Also, please fill out this form with all the needed information then let me know once done.

I tried this with a pro Zoom account. Made no difference.

Yes it is the first time trying to link my Zoom account.  Yes my Zoom account works on other devices.  It is a personal account.  Of course, when I am on another device I don’t use the Google app to connect to Zoom. Very frustrating because my daughter bought me this Nest Hub specifically to use on our family Zoom calls.

Yes it's very frustrating, I wanted to use my hub because of the better picture, camera, and sound than using my phone but I can't.

Google Nest Hub Max won’t link to Zoom - this is clearly an unresolved issue. I’m using Google Home App on an Android phone and a new Google Nest Hub Max. One of the reasons I bought this hub was to make Zoom calls on it instead of using my phone. Please can anyone help resolve this issue?

I am in the US with a brand new Nest Hub Max and an iPhone.  I do NOT have a paid zoom account either and I'm getting the same error.

Hello, I have just tested the problem with Zoom as well. I have several Google accounts, so I voluntarily unlink one of the accounts from Zoom. And I confirm that it is no longer possible to link afterwards. Accounts still linked to Zoom still work on the Nest Hub Max. So it looks like Google is no longer allowing newly signed up accounts to use the BETA Zoom Google Assistant service. I am in France and I also filled in the form.

Hello, I totally concur with your findings.

Google need to recognize this issue and produce a system software update to fix the problem.

I’m waiting for further response from Google following the form submission.

Looks to me a companmy like Google with all the knowledge and information they get should be able to tell us something in short time.

I cannot link my account and get on Zoom.  my wife's acount is link but still cannot get on Zoom. I believe Google wants us to us Meet instead.

Here is the answer to the form by Google France :
Thank you for contacting the Google Nest customer service team.

I'm sorry but we don't have a handle on this point. Indeed, we are in charge of Google products and not of links between Zoom and BETA versions.

I invite you to zoom closer.

For information, your inquiry number is 7-6539000033273. If you need further assistance, you can contact us again with this reference or reply to this email to reopen your request.
