Connecting your Nest Thermostat

Nest Logo.pngNest Thermostat

You are able to use your Nest Thermostat without connecting online, but to gain access to all its other awesome features, you will want to connect it to your internet. Follow the steps below to get connected.

Connecting your Nest Thermostat

  1. Press the Ring to bring up the menu.
  2. Turn the ring to Settings and press to select.
  3. Choose Network and select your Network name from the list of available networks. You may need to wait a minute while your Nest Thermostat scans for available networks.
  4. To Enter your password, turn the thermostat ring to highlight a letter, number, or symbol and press the ring to select it. Passwords are case sensitive so make sure you use the Shift key if necessary.

Troubleshooting

  • Restart your router and you Nest Device.
  • Make sure the connections are tight.
  • Check for interference.
  • Make sure your Nest Thermostat is getting the appropriate power. If the power is 3.6 Volt or lower, you may notice intermittent connection issues.
  • If you have an older 2wire model 3800HGV-B, it may not work with the Nest Thermostat. Contact us to get it replaced. Other routers that may not be compatible.
  • Lower the video quality on your NestCam. Select the Settings option in the top right corner, choose image quality and select a lower resolution.
