Hello, the back button on my Google chromecast remote does not work every 2 weeks or so when using the YouTube tv app. I then have to clear data + cache on this specific application for the back button on the remote to resume normal functioning. I can also uninstall and re-install the YouTube app to regain this operational capability of the back button on the remote. Both of these solutions are temporary and cumbersome. I would note this is the only app where the back button does not consistently work on the remote. Additionally, I have six external Google chromecasts (4K) in my house, and all have this issue. I’m very reluctant to factory reset each and every one of these devices, as I believe this is software related with either the Chromecast devices or the YouTube tv app. Possible for a software update to resolve this concern? Look forward to your response, Google.
regards, Moss

Hi Moss209,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. Based on your description, it doesn't seem to be an issue with the actual remote, hardware-wise or software-wise. If it is, it shouldn’t be limited to one app only, and it shouldn’t be intermittent.
I’m thinking that a particular (sideloaded) app may be causing the intervention of the input (by the back button), but that theory can only be possible if you have sideloaded this same app to all six of your Chromecast devices. If that’s not the case, then it would be best to reach out to our friends in the YouTube Help Community. They may need to do some coding corrections or so. I also suggest you go directly to YouTube TV Help for immediate or live assistance from their support team.
Let us know if you have other concerns related to your Chromecast devices.
Thanks,
Kimy

Hi Saucylady,
Thanks for joining this thread. I suppose that you’re also a Chromecast device user who would seek help and/or is willing to help fellow users here in this community. My assessment of the situation is that it’s best to have this handled by the YouTube TV team. I remember a similar post way back about this being related to recordings (DVR), where the navigation seems to experience difficulty but everything works outside of it. Do you have a workaround or any steps that you can suggest? If so, we would definitely appreciate it.
If you have questions of your own or have similar concerns, let us know.
Sincerely,
Kimy
